What Are You Looking For?

As we placed our ornaments on the tree this year I could not find two of my favorites. One was a Rudolph that has been on my tree every year of my life. My mother gave that ornament, along with several others, for me to put on the tree in our home. I wasn’t happy that I couldn’t find it. So I searched and searched. Finally it was found in another box, separate from the rest of the ornaments. Searching brought forth the reward.

Oh beloved, maybe you haven’t lost or misplaced a Christmas ornament. But you’ve lost something and you’re not sure if you’ll ever find it again. You’ve about given up. Life has gotten very complicated and you are oh so busy. The Lord wants you to know that when you search with all your heart, you will again find it. And it’s not far hidden nor out of reach. Everything you’ve ever wanted is found in Christ. It’s strange how we humans search to find satisfaction, pleasure, happiness and more. But when we stop and put our focus on the manger, the cross and the open tomb we find everything. Among the amazing things we always yearn for are peace, love, purpose, position, value, meaning and more.

God wants you to know this morning that His plans for you include everything you can imagine and so much more. The world doesn’t give anything of lasting value, even if you work harder. But just abiding in the presence of the Lord returns manifold blessings for you. You’re not destined to feel overwhelmed and undervalued. Your destiny lies in the truths of the Word – beautiful, cherished, honored, loved, restored, redeemed, blessed. Even your heartbreaks are turned into blessings. Even your tears – captured in His hand and poured into a bottle. He forgets nothing about you and He never forgets to care about and for you in every way. He is your Provider.

God loves you and He’s for you. Search Him out. He promises to be found by you. You’ll never be disappointed as you live in the Presence of the only One who can give your life the meaning your heart so longs for.

Lamentations 3:25 The LORD is good to those who depend on Him, to those who search for Him.

Matthew 6:32-33 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.

Ephesians 3:19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Psalm 16:11 You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.

Rebekah Beene

In a Christian Women’s meeting in 1983, Rebekah was given a prophetic message that she would write books. Several years ago she began writing stories about special holiday memories and travels, sharing God’s love and care through each story. God has gifted Rebekah with the ability to look at the natural and see the supernatural. Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences. Her tag line says it all “God loves you and He’s for you”.
