TAKEOFF,

Dockworkers’ Strike Shuts Down Major Ports,

Dockworkers’ strike shut down major U.S. ports on Tuesday. The 45,000-strong walkout threatens product shortages and higher prices ahead of the holiday shopping season.

The White House is urging negotiations but says President Joe Biden doesn’t plan to intervene, despite warnings from business groups that a strike could cost the economy an estimated $5 billion per day.

The International Longshoremen’s Association and employer group United States Maritime Alliance are at an impasse over wages and automation at 36 ports that handle about half of the nation’s cargo.

Many retailers have rushed to import holiday merchandise early, but a prolonged strike would disrupt supply chains as the Christmas season approaches.

U.S. Sends More Troops to Mideast,

The Pentagon announced on Monday that it will deploy thousands of additional U.S. troops, including fighter jet squadrons, to the Middle East to defend Israel, bringing the total U.S. forces in the region to around 43,000.

President Biden initially denied Sunday that the U.S. was planning to send more troops to the Middle East, but the situation changed as Israel began limited strikes across the border into Lebanon Monday.

The Israeli military said its targets were located in villages close to the border that posed “an immediate threat to Israeli communities in northern Israel.” It said its air force and artillery were helping with “precise strikes.”

Baseball Legend Pete Rose Dies,

Former Cincinnati Reds superstar Pete Rose, who retired as the sport’s all-time leader in hits before being banned from the sport forever, died Monday at 83.

Rose, whose nickname was “Charlie Hustle,” finished his career with 4,256 hits, the most in baseball history. He and Ty Cobb are the only two players to ever surpass 4,000 hits. He also holds the record for games played, plate appearances and at-bats.

The end of his career came swiftly when evidence arose that he was betting on baseball games. He received a lifetime ban in 1989 and was jailed for several months for tax evasion.

That ban also made him ineligible for induction into baseball’s Hall of Fame, a decision that remains controversial to this day.

POLITICS,

Former President Jimmy Carter will celebrate his 100th birthday today with philanthropic events as he becomes the longest-living president in American history. This will be his first birthday since the death of his wife Rosalynn last November.

Ryan Wesley Routh pleaded not guilty to five federal charges on Monday, including the attempted assassination of former President Trump, following an incident at Trump’s Florida golf course last month.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ lawyers requested the dismissal of the bribery charge in his federal indictment, arguing that the allegations were vague and didn’t show that Adams broke the law.

President Biden announced on Monday that he would request additional funds from Congress for disaster assistance while officials and aid groups worked to deliver supplies to areas devastated by Hurricane Helene.

Twitter and Facebook Marketing

My Name is Russell Sherrard. I am an experienced Social Media Marketer having 9 years of experience in Twitter marketing for multiple clients. The majority of my experience is with Authors and Writers as clients but will work with any legal and legitimate business.

Promote your book/ebook on twitter and anything digital. For example, Christian Apps. I can hear all the naysayers say that twitter is a cesspool and you can’t sell anything on twitter. I have been on twitter since August 2012. I am an author and I can tell you this is false. I have sold many, many books that I can track back to twitter. I have 12 thousand 200+ followers on twitter and it all depends on who you follow. My followers are about half political and half writers, authors and readers. Now there are some writers, and especially christian writers say that they don’t feel right selling their books. You mean to tell me that God led you to write the book and all that goes into it and not mean for you to not tell people about it? I just don’t buy it. Check out some of my previous work:

Before we go let me tell you about one of the books found on my Bookstore,

Go to https:// payhip.com/ Christian NonFiction eBookStore then scroll down and click on Interactive Romans Road New King James Version

Long Ago, when the Roman Empire was at the height of its glory, a common saying was “All Roads Lead to Rome.” I want to tell you about a very special road — a road that existed then and still exists now. This road, now almost 2,000 years old, has never led to Rome. Yet, strangely enough, it is called the Romans Road.

This takes the reader to selected passages in the Book of Romans in the Bible to explain the plan of Salvation. This is the ideal way to share the gospel using your Kindle. The reader can also read the entire book of Romans un-interrupted.
