(and anyone else who remembers going to camp)

“I don’t want you living with me anymore!”

Mom’s parting words before leaving him at summer camp stun Brady McCaul (13). What had he done to earn her sudden rejection? Was she really sending him to live with his workaholic dad—the guy who left six years ago?

Brady’s wound deepens when Taylor, the camp bully targets him with cruel taunts and teasing. But Steven, a blind but capable cabin mate, befriends Brady, and together with Steven’s spunky friend, Claire, they go up against Taylor on the ball field and in canoes

When Brady learns his mom might be in danger, he risks a daring night-time escape across the lake. Maybe if he can get home in time to help, she’ll change her mind.

But can he make it across the lake in the dark with a storm approaching? And will he change his mom’s mind, or will the secret behind her rejection change him?

Rustic Knoll Bible Camp—where kids bring their baggage to camp and let God carry it.

It’s summer camp so real, you can smell the campfire. No bug spray needed.
