Report: Postal Workers Stealing Mail,
U.S. postal workers are stealing mail, and the U.S. Postal Service Inspector General blames insufficient internal controls and active recruitment of workers by criminals.
According to a USPS investigation, organizations are actively recruiting postal workers to steal checks, credit cards, and other valuables, with recent cases including two workers charged with stealing over $1 million in business checks from facilities in Virginia and North Carolina.
The investigation found contributing factors include a lack of policies on personal belongings in the workplace, high supervisor vacancy rates, and inadequate theft awareness training.
Terrorist Used Smart Glasses in NOLA,
The FBI has confirmed that Shamsud-Din Jabbar, responsible for the New Orleans truck attack on New Year’s Day, visited the city at least twice ahead of the attack.
Additionally, the FBI released footage Jabbar recorded during a bike ride through the French Quarter using Meta smart glasses. See the footage here. Jabbar also wore the Meta glasses during the attack; however, they were not recording, officials said.
Also this weekend, U.S. military bases across the country heightened base security, including suspending the Pentagon’s “Trusted Traveler Program” and requiring a full ID check at all entry points.

Animated sequels were big at the box office in 2024, making up four of the top 10 highest-grossing movies worldwide.
Inside Out 2 took the top spot as the first animated film to pass $1 billion in ticket sales, with Despicable Me 4, Moana 2, and Kung Fu Panda 4 ranking third, fourth, and eighth, respectively.
Deadpool & Wolverine was the second highest-grossing movie of the year, and Dune: Part Two rounded out the top five.
Of the 20 top-grossing films, only It Ends With Us and The Wild Robot were not based on previous films or film series, though both are book adaptations.
