The Bride of Christ

Each morning the internet has headlines about wild and crazy things going on.  This morning I read where a bride canceled her wedding because the guests refused to pay the $1500 attendance fee.  She even accused her friends and family of ruining her marriage and her life.

As I read the story I was reminded of how the enemy of our soul always had grandiose ideas like revenge, animosity and self-centered acts of reward.  His plan is to convince us that we must have something and then when we can’t get it, he wants us to blame others. He is never happy and the price we have to pay after his work is done is far too high.

Oh beloved, God’s plan for your life includes you as the Bride of Christ.  There will be a beautiful, out of this world wedding one day. But your life is full of faith, peace, gentleness and good works while you are waiting.  You may feel like you’ve been left at the altar. But God is about to turn your mourning into dancing. He’s about to sweep you up into His heart and give you more than you’ve ever dreamed of. And with it you have no cost to pay – for Christ paid it all for you.  All you need now is to follow Him with all of your heart.  Those things you thought you wanted that would provide fulfillment can never do what a love story with Jesus can do. While beautiful weddings are lovely and beautiful earthly things can be enjoyed, there is nothing more beautiful than life with the Lord.  His vows are forever – you are eternally safe, accepted, held, loved and always welcome to have a relationship with Him.  Fear of not measuring up, fitting in or finding real love has to go – for God will calm all your fears with His love.  You may feel quite ordinary but God has set you apart and chosen you for His own.  Big wedding, little ceremony or not married at all – you have a love that is worth dying for and Jesus has given that to you as a gift!

God loves you and He’s for you – always, forever, unbroken vows.  Death will not separate you, misunderstandings won’t alienate you from Him.  Rehearse the vows of the Lord every morning and remember who you are and to whom you belong.  And live the life of faith – worshiping, living and enjoying your life in Christ no matter what else is going on!

Isaiah 54:5 For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called.

Hosea 2:19 So I will betroth you to Me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in loving devotion and compassion.

Isaiah 62:4 It will no longer be said to you, “Forsaken,” Nor to your land will it any longer be said, “Desolate”; But you will be called, “My delight is in her,” And your land, “Married”; For the LORD delights in you, And to Him your land will be married.

I Thessalonians 5:18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

About the Author:

Rebekah Beene

In a Christian Women’s meeting in 1983, Rebekah was given a prophetic message that she would write books. Several years ago she began writing stories about special holiday memories and travels, sharing God’s love and care through each story. God has gifted Rebekah with the ability to look at the natural and see the supernatural. Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences. Her tag line says it all “God loves you and He’s for you”.
