No More Prison

It’s been many years but I used to go with a group of women for prison ministry. One of the things I learned while participating in this was that being set free was fearful to many of those women we ministered to. In fact, some would commit a crime again just to get put back behind bars. They felt very fearful in the freedom and much safer behind bars. It’s probably impossible for someone who’s never been there to understand. But for them freedom was a very scary thing.

While not all of us have been in a literal prison, even believers can relate to a prison without bars.

Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that He set you up for complete freedom! He sent Christ to the Cross so that you could go free. You don’t have to live imprisoned. You don’t have to live with regrets. You don’t have to live in shame. The greatest lie the enemy ever gives any of us is that we either can’t change or we aren’t changed. But Christ has indeed changed everything! The yoke of bondage was removed. The bars of the old life have been broken away. The lock on the cell has been broken. You, beloved, who have trusted Christ as Savior, are free!

God loves you and He is for you! Isn’t this the Good News! Freedom! No more repression in captivity! In Christ you are free to do everything God calls you to do! In Holy Spirit power you are entitled to live completely for the Lord! You may still see yourself as marred, scarred or injured. But God sees you as beautiful, perfected and royalty! It’s time to throw off the lies and embrace the truth that you are free indeed and thus free to live for Christ as anointed and appointed to fulfill your destiny for the rest of your life! Hallelujah!

Galatians 5:1 It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

Psalm 102:19-21 For He looked down from His holy height; from heaven the Lord gazed upon the earth, to hear the groaning of the prisoner, to set free those who were doomed to death, that men may tell of the name of the Lord in Zion and His praise in Jerusalem!

Psalm 146:7 Who executes justice for the oppressed; Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free!

John 8:36 So if the Son makes you free, then you are unquestionably free!

Rebekah Beene

In a Christian Women’s meeting in 1983, Rebekah was given a prophetic message that she would write books. Several years ago she began writing stories about special holiday memories and travels, sharing God’s love and care through each story. God has gifted Rebekah with the ability to look at the natural and see the supernatural. Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences. Her tag line says it all “God loves you and He’s for you”.
