I’ve been cooking, cleaning and washing clothes for 43 years in my own home. It’s gotten interesting sometimes. It’s gotten monotonous at other times. But it’s continued. Everything done in the home is something that continually needs done. The laundry will technically never be caught up. The dishes are always going to be ready to wash or put away. The food, well, we need food every day for the rest of our lives.
I can’t wake up one morning and decide not to ever do those things again. The same is true for our spiritual life.
Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that He sees your acts of faith. He is thrilled with your steadfast continuance in spite of what has come your way. He wants you to know that you were bought with a price and you are kept with that same price. There have been times you put one foot in front of the other and walk by faith alone. In the dreary times you can rest assured that Son is shining His light for you! In the monotonous times you can be sure that in your weariness God is your refreshment! Not a single day is wasted even when you feel nothing exciting or new is happening. Holy Spirit within you gives you charge to keep going and keep seeking the Father’s face. You even wonder why you exist in this season. God says you exist for Me! You are my handmaiden of faith. I Am that I AM. You were born in flesh and blood because I ordained it. You were born again because I wooed you to Myself.
God loves you and He’s for you! Peel back the monotony and look again. Your heart is beating this day because you live in purpose and preparedness for God’s glory. You’re not killing time just waiting for the next problem, the next decision or the next stage of life. No, beloved, you are here to commit your life to Eternal things. Next time you feel like life is in a rut, ask the Lord to reveal His fresh insight and calling for your life! He will reveal things to you and give you new plans. Rejoice that you aren’t done and it’s not over – you are just beginning to live as you live in the Light of His Glory & Grace!
1 Corinthians 8:6 Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.
Revelation 4:11 “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”
Ephesians 4:1 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.
2 Timothy 1:9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan from before the beginning of time–to show us His grace through Christ Jesus.
About the Author:
In a Christian Women’s meeting in 1983, Rebekah was given a prophetic message that she would write books. Several years ago she began writing stories about special holiday memories and travels, sharing God’s love and care through each story. God has gifted Rebekah with the ability to look at the natural and see the supernatural. Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences. Her tag line says it all “God loves you and He’s for you”.
