GNFC Accomplishments for 2018!
Parker J. Cole
It’s kinda hard to talk about one’s accomplishments. There’s always that aspects of ourselves that shies away from admitting our successes because we don’t want to be boastful.
Yet, I’m one of these people always happy for someone else’s success. I don’t see it as being boastful at all. And if I feel that way about someone else, then possibly, it’s okay to feel the same way about myself.
With that in mind, I’m so thankful to God for the following things He has given me this year:
1. I taught for the second time as a faculty member at the Southern California Christian Writer’s Conference.
2. I went to the Romantic Times Booklovers Conference and met some of my peeps I talk to online in person.
3. I started writing in a new genre — sweet historical romances. To date, due to the multi-author projects, I’ve written a total of six works this year. This has increased my readership for which I am thankful.
4. I have accepted the position of Media Assistant with the Southern California Christian Writer’s conference for 2019.
5. I moderated a debate between Preterism and Futurism views of Biblical Endtimes for the first time this year. It was a step outside of my comfort zone but I enjoyed it. Those debates have been very popular.
6. I had a host join my network this year from California.
7. My podcast reach has exploded for which I am truly thankful.
Suzanne D. Williams
Suzanne D. Williams published six new books in 2018: Book 3 in the Grace & Cowboys series; both books 4 and 5 in the “Cowboys of the Double R” series; Book 7 in the Florida Irish series (a particularly huge goal she had); “The Gunslinger”, the start of a new western series, “Renegade Brides”; and a Christmas novella, “The Magic of Christmas”. She also participated in two sets with other fantastic authors, “Be Still, My Heart” and “A Very Merry Winter”, as well as reorganizing and re-releasing previously-published stories in new and better formats. She also completed the fourth audiobook in the Superhuman series, “The Family”, and is at work on the final audiobook, “The Child”, with narrator Mike Carnes.

This year was very exciting for me! I finally finished and published 4 Dreadful Judgments under Precarious Yates. I also published the biographical romance Hannah’s Civil Pirate under my other pen name, Joanna Emerson! This book is about the incredible early life of Civil War hero Robert Smalls. Also, in July, I won my first literary award, the Realm Makers award in the YA category, for my book The Mapmaker’s Daughter, under the pen name Joanna Emerson.

Here are the books I’ve had published this year. It’s been a busy year for me, but I’m glad to see I actually accomplished something in spite of it all.

3. Barely missed the NaNoWriMo deadline (1/2 hr late) but now have over 73,000 words in a Christian Murder/Suspense novel. Not quite ready for publication but excited to honor persecuted believers, marriage, and more in this new work.

2018 was amazing! As the year comes to a close, I’m reflecting on all 2018 held for me. I published 5 more books, spoke at several speaking engagements (including being on my first author panel), started a reader group, integrated three of my blogs for streamlined posting, and saw an increase in terms of sales and readers. I improved my newsletter, began recording “Tea & a Book Tuesday” video chats, improved my author website, and increased my marketing reach. It was a phenomenal year and I owe it all to the Lord for helping me. Thank you for your continued prayers for my writing!
