Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. – 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Everyone needs encouragement! We suffer daily with the trials and tribulations of life. We sometimes become discouraged, feel unworthy/unlovable, lost, confused and simply overwhelmed by everything. We have so many stressors in our daily lives that encouragement of any form makes a significant difference. If we each began to have an encouraging word, smile or gesture for every individual we come in contact with, our world would be much brighter and less stressful. Some of that negative energy we would normally use to stress over our own lives would be exerted in the form of positive energy toward encouraging others. Start inward and work outward. Encourage yourself and your household. Then branch out and encourage everyone you encounter.
“Working from within to encourage brings things full circle.”
START YOUR MINISTRY AT HOME FIRST!
Why pass by everyone in your own home to minister to all those outside your home? Let me approach this from another angle. Is GOD pleased when we overlook, pass-by and neglect to minister to those we see every day to go and minister elsewhere?
Encouragement means to give hope or support to someone; to give a boost. Sometimes our words are the only encouragement to spur someone on to greatness. So you may be thinking “I hear you, but this encouragement stuff doesn’t come naturally for me.” I’ve got news for you: a smile, a pat on the back, a “THANK YOU”, or a small gift can go a long way in a person’s life. These small acts show others that there is someone who cares. They are valued!
“Seize the opportunity to be someone’s #1 cheerleader. The power of your cheerleading is not just a game changer; it’s a Life-Changer.”
Our cheerleading may be someone’s only hope. The best place to find hope is in the Bible. For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope (Romans 15:4).
A smile and a hug can also go a long way in restoring hope and helping one regain their focus. Just remember to encourage with love, kindness, and sincerity. Your choice of encouragement must be heartfelt and genuine. Your love, your words of praise and your time could be the difference between life and death.
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. – Romans 12:9-10
To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world. Unknown
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus. – Romans 15:5
My cheerleading poem:
I WILL CHEER FOR YOU
I will cheer for you…….someone cheers for me.
I will lift your head….help you reach your destiny.
Never worry for you walketh not alone.
GOD encourages us as He sits upon His throne.
I encourage you thus encouraging myself.
I have to encourage you. I can’t leave this gift on the shelf.
Encouraging you is a gift that keeps on giving
Indeed it is the reason for my living.
Whether it be a smile, a word or a gift, may it be a blessing to you and give you a lift.
You may just be in a funk for a day.
I encourage you to let JESUS show you the way.
Through His love this ministry I will do my best to fulfill
Because encouraging you is a part of GOD’s will.
Remember, you are GOD’s #1 treasure, no matter the storm nor the gloomy weather.
I will cheer for you through happiness, pain and strife.
When the sun shines again, remember, you too must serve as a fountain of life.
I’M CHEERING FOR YOU!!!
