You’re invited to the table of the Lord. Did you know that? Did you know He’s spread out a banquet for us and wants us to fellowship with Him there?
Psalm 36:7-9
How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house,
and you give them drink from the river of your delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light do we see light.

He is so eager to have us join Him that, as it says in Psalm 23:5, He prepares the banquet table for us even on the battlefield, even in the messiness of life:
Psalm 23:5
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Just because a passage is familiar does not mean it’s not applicable. God wants so much for us to accept the invitation into abundant blessings!
Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Yes, there are troubles in this life. Yes, there are trials that test us sometimes past our breaking point. But there is also the fullness of joy in His presence. There is also a banqueting table in His presence which is full of delights.
In John 16:33, Jesus says,
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Accept His invitation today, for the first time or the hundred and first time, and sit in His presence. He says today as He did in days of old,
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20)
He wants to dine with you right in the midst of your life, in all the swirls of activity and the mires of disappointment. And He wants you to dine with Him in the midst of His life, at the abundance of His table full of mercy and healing and refreshment for our souls, drinking from the rivers of His pleasure where we will never thirst again.
He delights in you. Accept that invitation today.

Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts…
Psalm 95:7-8

God bless you!
