Recently I saw a video of people walking their dogs. Actually it was a funny video of dogs with leashes and people yanked around by the dogs. Since my fur baby is only 10 pounds I forget the strength of a larger dog! I always think just let go of the leash before you fall down or are drug through the roses! But those owners hang on with all their might. Nobody is hurt in the film, but maybe their pride.
Oh beloved, God speaks to our hearts this morning. Walking a dog is like life. You can get yanked around, drug through the thorns and fall over things. It happens. But you don’t have to hang onto things for dear life. Sin will want to entangle you. It loves to drag you around. But when you let go the pain eases up. So too, holding onto things people have done to you causes the thorns to dig into your heart. Let that go too. While a sweet dog might be your best friend and yours to care for, not so with life. This life is no longer yours if you belong to Jesus. It’s his. Let Him have the lead. He will bring back everything you need. He will restore what you lose. And He will turn all things together for your good and His glory!
God loves you and He will restore your soul. Run to Him this morning and thank Him for helping you get back on your feet. Repent for trying to hold what isn’t yours to hang onto.  And live the life of freedom from being yanked around anymore!
1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.
1 Corinthians 10:13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.
Romans 8:28 And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.

About the Author:

Rebekah Beene

In a Christian Women’s meeting in 1983, Rebekah was given a prophetic message that she would write books. Several years ago she began writing stories about special holiday memories and travels, sharing God’s love and care through each story. God has gifted Rebekah with the ability to look at the natural and see the supernatural. Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences. Her tag line says it all “God loves you and He’s for you”.
