“She Married An Adventurer” might be a good title for my life story. Last night as we were talking with family about all the exploits of our youth, I was reminded that for real – I was not so very adventurous, but I did marry a bit of a daredevil. I have always loved a good adventure, led by my hubby! I told the one about the river bridge with no side railings we had to cross. I was so chicken that I made him stop and let me walk across that bridge! He laughed so hard at that memory that he kept falling back in the recliner!

Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that your life is one big adventure. Sometimes it’s disguised as hardship – like walking across a scary bridge. Other times it’s just the fun of being young at heart. Either way, you’ve made it thus far. By the Grace of God. Looking back you might revisit the fear of the mountain you traversed. But it was a mountain you conquered. And even if you didn’t know it then, it was part of your learning experience. Do I like heights now? Not really. But I have learned that where hubby leads I will get through it and enjoy the view most of the time. Same for the Lord. We must learn to know that wherever we go, God will get us through by leading us with His faithful hand.

God loves you and He’s for you. So whatever adventure you are facing, you can know your times are in His hands. Rejoice that you don’t go alone. Relax that you will get beyond that mountain. And live, with an eye on the One who gave you this life to explore. And walk in His Presence and Power through it all!

Habakkuk 3:19 The Lord GOD is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility].

2 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of Him everywhere.

Luke 5:4 When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”

Psalm 84:5 Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
