I don’t remember disliking summer weather as a kid. But these hot days we are having with no sign of rain or cooling down are not my favorite at all. I would gladly trade summer, at least this very hot and dry one, for spring or fall. Please.
Oh beloved, whatever you are going though, it’s good to remember that it is a season. The scorching reminder of your troubles greets you every morning with the opening of your eyes. You are remembering what once was and how cool and peaceful things were then. Maybe you took them for granted. And now you want to trade all this momentary light affliction for a former season or a new season you can just imagine.
God wants to remind any who are struggling: This is temporary. It’s all temporary. There is not a duration tag you can find for the season you are in. Prayer certainly helps. But that’s no beggar’s request. Don’t waste it on wishing it away. Learn in this season. Gardens are pouring forth their bounty right now and people are storing the best away. You too, can reap a harvest of the best and store it away. Not a single season is wasted in God’s sight. Whining won’t gain a thing. Griping won’t move the season along. Wistful wishing can’t help you. But drawing closer to the Lord and asking Him what He wants you to learn in the scorching season is magnificent. Because He will surely show you!
God loves you and He’s for you. In the heat, in the drought, in the hardship. He is with you right here. Don’t delay to wake up with praise on your lips. Because you can know that when this season is over, you will gain righteousness and perseverance for the Kingdom is your home!
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you will have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Isaiah 44:3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and currents on the dry ground. I will pour out My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring.
Hosea 10:12 Sow for yourselves, with a view to righteousness; Harvest in accordance with kindness. Break up your uncultivated ground, for it is time to seek the LORD until He comes and rains righteousness on you.
Psalm 105:4 Seek the LORD, and His strength: seek His face evermore
About the Author:
In a Christian Women’s meeting in 1983, Rebekah was given a prophetic message that she would write books. Several years ago she began writing stories about special holiday memories and travels, sharing God’s love and care through each story. God has gifted Rebekah with the ability to look at the natural and see the supernatural. Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences. Her tag line says it all “God loves you and He’s for you”.
