Last night after I went to bed I heard these words: Make sure you always lead others to the Living Water.
My parents helped a lot of people during their lifetime. Even as a child, our home was filled with people who needed help and received more than they could imagine. I am so grateful now to look back at their legacy. They didn’t mince words, oftentimes dealing with severe addiction. But they always led people to a discovery that, in spite of their weakness, there was hope for a better life.
Oh beloved, there are so many “self-help” programs in the world today. And there are so many versions of truth waving their signs at your mind. We all need help that’s for sure. But which help will really do what the heart desires? Deep down inside, there is a God sized void built into humanity. And it must be filled with Him . Sure people have their own lives and some live them quite well. But you cannot go into eternity without the Truth. And you will miss the best life here without it.
God wants to tell you the Truth this morning. Self-help is not your answer. It’s God-help you need. Only God has the Living Water and Jesus is the dispenser of this water. The woman at the well found that Living Water and was instantly changed and given her call in life – she became an evangelist. Not by going thru a manmade set of rules. But by taking that Living Water and staying in it for the rest of her life! We aren’t shallow humans who need to get educated in how to find our own best life. We are deep born again believers, who must find the depths of God and live in Spirit and Truth. You aren’t the sum of your past sins, nor your dead existence. And for sure not your own attempt to make yourself right in God’s sight. You are a receiver of Grace and Mercy and you go nowhere without them!
God loves you and He’s for you. Forever His Word is settled in heaven. And His Living Water never runs dry. Go to Him this morning and ask Him for understanding of how you can realize who you are in Christ. And live, move, rejoice, enjoy, and do everything in your life- with that Truth as your Living Guide.
John 7:38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’
Jeremiah 17:13 O Lord, the hope of Israel, all who forsake You will be put to shame. Those who turn away on earth will be written down, because they have forsaken the fountain of living water, even the Lord.
John 4:10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
1 Peter 1:3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.
