Recently one night I turned over in bed. Nothing unusual. Except as I was trying to push my pillow around, I caught a fingernail on it. I hollered. It hurt but I also knew I had ripped a nail and it was probably bleeding. Hubby woke up and handed me the fingernail clippers so I could cut away most of the nail. Sure enough it bled some, but I put a band-aid on it and we went back to sleep. Some of the craziest things happen when you are just trying to sleep comfortably!
Oh beloved, God speaks to our hearts. Life is fragile. Things can happen when we are just having fun or adjusting in life. Rips come in the oddest places and at the oddest times. But we aren’t due to give up or quit living. Imagine if I said I wouldn’t sleep on that pillow anymore. The pillow didn’t do anything wrong. It was just life happening.
So the Lord reminds you that life just happens. Nothing is perfect all the time. There will be pain. Bandages in life will be needed. You aren’t subject to give up because of life. It’s time to turn on the light and view the damage through God’s lens. Jesus came to give you a good life. He also came to hold you in hard times and to bind up your wounds. You aren’t alone in any situation as long as you have Jesus.
God loves you and He is helping you even now. Run to Him this morning and let Him cover your wounds with His love and His Word. And live focused on Jesus rather than your pain. Because you are His and you are safe with Him always.
Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.
Luke 4:18-19 The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Psalm 30:2 LORD my God, I called to You for help, and You healed me.
Philippians 4:19 And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
About the Author:
In a Christian Women’s meeting in 1983, Rebekah was given a prophetic message that she would write books. Several years ago she began writing stories about special holiday memories and travels, sharing God’s love and care through each story. God has gifted Rebekah with the ability to look at the natural and see the supernatural. Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences. Her tag line says it all “God loves you and He’s for you”.
