Half Dome. I watched a video of a group descending half dome. Sounds exciting. Until you realize treacherous  45° angle the climbers must climb and return with only two cables as a walkway of sorts.  In order to make it up and down the 8000 foot round rock mountain, you must have the strength to hold on no matter what. Not everyone survives the attempt. One slip loss of the grip on the cables is all it takes.

Oh beloved, what mountain are you climbing today? Do you think you have to climb that mountain in your own strength? Do you think it’s all up to you to make it?
The truth is, you are not strong enough on your own. But God in his infinite mercy is holding onto you all through the way. It will still be incredibly scary for you. But you will not slip and you will not lose your way as long as you remain gripped to the Lord’s strong arm. Even if the mountain is something you have done to yourself, you can call out to Jesus. You’re not a victim of your situation. You’re a fully and down with spiritual strength to make it no matter what.
God loves you and he wants to change your life. He changes your attitude to give you strength in the altitude.  Run to him this morning and thank him for his invincible care of you. Thank him that there’s no mountain too high, too slippery or too rugged for Him. And praise Him that your weakness is no problem for Him.
Isaiah 59:1 Listen! The LORD’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is His ear too deaf to hear you call.
Isaiah 33:2  But Lord, be merciful to us, for we have waited for You. Be our strong arm each day and our salvation in times of trouble.
Psalm 68:9 Praise the Lord; praise God our saviour. For each day He carries us in His arms.

Habakkuk 3:19  The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.

About the Author:

Rebekah Beene

In a Christian Women’s meeting in 1983, Rebekah was given a prophetic message that she would write books. Several years ago she began writing stories about special holiday memories and travels, sharing God’s love and care through each story. God has gifted Rebekah with the ability to look at the natural and see the supernatural. Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences. Her tag line says it all “God loves you and He’s for you”.
