Do you ever think of the Bible like a meal?
I know I hear preachers talk about getting fed from God’s Word, and living daily off it, and how it is our meat, and our bread, and our milk. We must be fed by God’s Word daily in order to thrive spiritually.
I’m sure you’ve heard that too.
But then, why don’t we eat of it often? Why do we not pull up to the table and partake?
Let me tell you, the Word of God is like a buffet – the best buffet you’ve ever seen or heard of.
You know what that means? No matter what we pick from that buffet, it’ll be great! You can’t go wrong with the Bible. It’s not like you’ll pick something up, fill up your plate, and find out that it’s all really bad, or something went rotten, or it’s too spicy or too bland.
No, it’s all good for our edification. You can’t go wrong.
So have confidence. Don’t be hesitant – don’t think that just because you haven’t studied it much up until now, then you must not be capable of studying the Bible.
No, you ARE capable. Open up that Bible and study anything you find in it.
It’s literally all good.
About the Author:
Sherry grew up in various cities around northern and central California. This gave her all sorts of stories that sat and festered in her brain, waiting to be let loose. She eventually went to college in Wisconsin, where she met her equally frenetic husband, Rich. They have six (yes, count them) children, two dogs and a cat, and currently reside in a madhouse in the southern California area. As a family, they enjoy being active in their local church. Sherry spends her time writing when not caring for Granny, the kids, the dogs, the cat and any number of strays in the neighborhood.
