Better Days Ahead

Looking through online yearbooks, I found my second grade class. All those smiling faces with names I remember. Except for me. My face was a bit of a frown. I remember the two years I spent at that school. I had left what I considered the best school for one that I never ever liked. It was tough. My face showed it. Fortunately my parents moved again and I found relief. But those years are forever etched in my heart. I’m not saying I had no fun at all, but it was a hard place to be.

Oh beloved, I hear the cries of your heart. You’re in a hard place. You don’t want to be there and you wish you could either go back or move on. There is nothing that you can do in and of yourself to change the perspective or remove the frown from your heart.

God wants you to know this morning that He hears the cries of your heart as well. Although your situation hasn’t changed yet, He is with you right in the middle of it. He didn’t decide you needed a bad day, a bad week or a bad year. But He did make the vow to remain with you through it all. Because He knows the end from the beginning you can be sure He has your best in mind and your heart in His care. He says now is not the time to focus on what’s wrong. It’s time to look deeper into the good things. While you may have no fun at all there is that abiding joy that wants to spring up like a well in your soul – to give you hope for the hopelessness and peace for the conflict. Something is going on in your heart that will give you more strength having been where you are. While you see sorrow, trouble and pain – God sees triumph, victory and consolation. Trust Him now. Look to Jesus, who endured the cross for you, and rely on Holy Spirit within you. You are sealed into God’s favor in spite of the present school of life you are in. This is not your time to give up. It’s your time to give your heart more completely to the Lord and let Him take you to the heights in the midst of the depths. Better days are ahead.

God loves you and He is for you – always, forever, and amen. He is accomplishing a divine transformation in you because He says that all things are possible with Him. Rejoice that His peace is your covering and His Victory is your blessing as you walk in the Light of His joy and His praise.

Psalm 130:5 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits and in His word I put my hope

Psalm 36:7 How priceless is Your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

Psalm 21:6 Surely you have granted him eternal blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence.

Isaiah 61:10 I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns His head like a priest and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

About the Author:

Rebekah Beene

In a Christian Women’s meeting in 1983, Rebekah was given a prophetic message that she would write books. Several years ago she began writing stories about special holiday memories and travels, sharing God’s love and care through each story. God has gifted Rebekah with the ability to look at the natural and see the supernatural. Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences. Her tag line says it all “God loves you and He’s for you”.
