TAKEOFF.

Navy Destroyer Sent to Southern Border.

The Pentagon confirmed that a Navy guided-missile destroyer was deployed to the southern border to aid in securing the U.S. border and operate in international waters.

The USS Gravely, an Arleigh Burke-class warship armed with Tomahawk cruise missiles, will be stationed in the Northern Command area, which includes the Gulf of America, the Straits of Florida, and much of the Caribbean region.

The destroyer will also house a squad of U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment operators, elite specialists in maritime missions such as combating piracy and intercepting drug trafficking.

The warship recently served in the Middle East, where it was involved in shooting down ship attacks by Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

Trump: Biden Autopen Use ‘Voids’ Pardons.

President Trump declared Sunday that preemptive pardons granted by former President Biden to members of the House Jan. 6 select committee were “void” and “vacant” because he said they were signed with an autopen and not by hand.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump also said Biden “knew nothing” about the pardons, raising the question as to whether his staff had “committed a crime.”

Trump warned that members of the former Jan. 6 House select committee to whom Biden issued pardons would be “subject to investigation at the highest level.”

At a press briefing Monday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump was “raising the point” of the legality of the pardons and that questions about autopen usage should be directed to former Biden White House officials.

List: U.S. Military Bases Around the World.

A recently released map shows the location of every known overseas American military base, totaling at least 128 bases across 49 countries.

The information is based on unclassified data from a Congressional report published in 2024. The bases shown in red are controlled by the U.S., and the ones in blue are controlled by the host country.

Japan has the most U.S. bases, with 14, followed by the Philippines (9) and South Korea (8). The U.S. also has numerous bases across Europe and some, though fewer, in the Middle East.

POLITICS.

President Trump announced he’ll release 80,000 pages of unredacted files today on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, fulfilling a promise he made during the election campaign.

Trump also plans to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin today to discuss efforts to end the Ukraine war.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has postponed his book tour, citing security concerns as he faces a backlash from Democratic voters after supporting a GOP measure to fund the government.

House Republicans rolled out a list of 26 Democratic House seats they think are vulnerable to election challenges in the 2026 midterms.
