TAKEOFF,

Charges Against Trump Dropped,

The Justice Department dropped all charges against President-elect Donald Trump in the federal case, which charged him with conspiring to overturn the 2020 election.

Special Counsel Jack Smith submitted a motion to dismiss the case, which was granted by Judge Tanya Chutkan. Trump was indicted in 2023 on four felony counts, including conspiracy to defraud the U.S., obstructing an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.

Smith’s filing stated his request aligned with the DOJ’s stance that sitting presidents are immune from federal indictment and criminal prosecution.

Trump responded to the legal victory on social media, describing the case as “empty and lawless” and saying he “persevered, against all odds, and WON.”

Israel-Hezbollah Near Cease-Fire Deal,

A cease-fire deal to end the Israel-Hezbollah conflict was imminent on Monday, according to senior Biden administration officials.

National security spokesperson John Kirby didn’t release details of the deal, saying it was close to completion.

Israeli officials said Prime Minister Netanyahu’s security Cabinet will meet today to discuss the proposal, though key issues, such as Israel’s right to respond to potential Hezbollah violations, remain unresolved.

If signed, the deal would also establish a five-nation monitoring committee, led by the U.S., to oversee the border and facilitate the return of displaced people in Israel and Lebanon after a year of fighting.

Long Ago, when the Roman Empire was at the height of its glory, a common saying was “All Roads Lead to Rome.” I want to tell you about a very special road — a road that existed then and still exists now. This road, now almost 2,000 years old, has never led to Rome. Yet, strangely enough, it is called the Romans Road.
This takes the reader to selected passages in the Book of Romans in the Bible to explain the plan of Salvation. This is the ideal way to share the gospel using your Kindle. The reader can also read the entire book of Romans un-interrupted.
