THE FLYOVER,

Thursday, AUGUST 29, 2024,

Good Morning! On this day in 1958, the United States Air Force Academy opened in Colorado Springs. The dedication ceremony was broadcast live on national television, with Walter Cronkite covering the event.

Walter Cronkite isn’t the only celebrity connected to the Air Force Academy. Famed Hollywood director Cecil B. DeMille designed the cadet parade uniform. The movie-ready blue-grey jacket, white trousers, gold waist sash, and white peaked hat are still worn today.

We hope you enjoyed reading today’s Flyover. Let us know how we’re doing by replying to Russell Sherrard at russellsherrard@reagan.com.

TAKEOFF,

Supreme Court Blocks Biden Loan Plan,

The Supreme Court on Wednesday blocked President Joe Biden’s latest student loan relief program, known as SAVE, while legal challenges proceed.

The justices upheld a lower court injunction against the plan, which would extend repayment periods and forgive debts of $12,000 or less for millions of borrowers.

This decision follows the court’s ruling last year that struck down Biden’s broader attempt to cancel up to $400 billion in student loans.

The SAVE program, which Biden touted as “the most affordable student loan repayment plan ever,” has been challenged by Republican-led states arguing the president overstepped his authority.

Severe thunderstorms are forecast to follow a similar path from the Great Lakes to the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England, bringing cooler temperatures to the Northeast by week’s end.

Twitter and Facebook Marketing

My Name is Russell Sherrard. I am an experienced Social Media Marketer having 9 years of experience in Twitter marketing for multiple clients. The majority of my experience is with Authors and Writers as clients but will work with any legal and legitimate business.

Promote your book/ebook on twitter and anything digital. For example, Christian Apps. I can hear all the naysayers say that twitter is a cesspool and you can’t sell anything on twitter. I have been on twitter since August 2012. I am an author and I can tell you this is false. I have sold many, many books that I can track back to twitter. I have 12 thousand 200+ followers on twitter and it all depends on who you follow. My followers are about half political and half writers, authors and readers. Now there are some writers, and especially christian writers say that they don’t feel right selling their books. You mean to tell me that God led you to write the book and all that goes into it and not mean for you to not tell people about it? I just don’t buy it. Check out some of my previous work:
