THE FLYOVER,

Sunday, October 27, 2024,

Good Morning! On this day in 1682, William Penn founded Philadelphia, the largest city in Pennsylvania and, for most of the 18th century, the third-largest city in the British Empire.

Speaking of Pennsylvania, it’s shaping up to be one of the most critical swing states in the presidential election, and both candidates are spending plenty of time there.

TAKEOFF,

Trump Interview Goes Viral,

Podcast host Joe Rogan released a 3-hour interview with Former President Donald Trump on Friday, and within 24 hours it was viewed 22 million times on YouTube alone, along with millions more views on Spotify.

The conversation covered Trump’s experience of moving into the White House, tariff policy, the near-assassination at a rally, Trump’s advice to North Korean leader Kim Jung Un, and a lot more.

At one point, Trump showed Rogan the scar on his ear from the shooting in Butler, PA. “It zicked right there, said Trump, “but it makes me a tougher guy.”

Asked what his mistakes were during his time in office, Trump said some of his appointments were “people that I shouldn’t have picked.” He dismissed his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, as “a very low IQ person” and said that if elected, he would like to include Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. in his administration.

Dodgers Win Again,

The Los Angeles Dodgers won Game 2 of the World Series last night, 4-2.

They’ll take a 2-0 series lead to New York for Game 3, but they may be without their best player. Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani left the game last night after hurting his shoulder while attempting to steal second base, and the team is waiting on test results to determine his status.

Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, signed for a record $325 million, held the Yankees to just one hit through nearly seven innings. Three Dodgers hit home runs, including Teoscar Hernández and Freddie Freeman’s back-to-back homers in the 3rd.

Yankees slugger Aaron Judge went 0-4 with three strikeouts. New York will try to right the ship on Monday at 8:08 ET.

List: Which States Drink the Most Beer?,

Beer might taste the best on a hot day, but did you know that Americans consume the greatest quantities of beer, per capita, in three states with serious winters: Montana, New Hampshire, and Vermont?

New Hampshire has the highest number of all, but the stat is a bit deceptive. The state doesn’t have sales tax, and more than half of beer customers cross the state line to take advantage of lower prices.
