TAKEOFF,

RFK Jr. Named to Head Health Agencies,

President-elect Trump nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees 13 agencies with a budget of nearly $2 trillion.

Kennedy, an outspoken critic of big pharmaceutical companies, vaccine mandates, herbicides, and processed foods, said Trump asked him to “reorganize” the agencies overseen by HHS.

These include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, among others.

The announcement received some bipartisan support, with Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis praising Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination, highlighting his stance against big pharma and corporate agriculture.

Judges Postpone Trials for Jan. 6 Defendants,

Two federal judges agreed to delay trials for defendants accused of participating in the Jan. 6 Capitol breach, citing the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.

Judges Carl Nichols and Rudolph Contreras—appointed by Trump and former president Barack Obama, respectively—opted to avoid calling jurors for trials that could be canceled if Trump follows through on his pardon pledge.

These delays are the first instances of federal judges granting postponements due to defendants’ hopes for clemency from the incoming administration.

Several defendants have already submitted case updates, pointing to Trump’s election victory as grounds for further delays.

Tyson, Paul in Big Fight on Netflix Tonight,

The highly anticipated rescheduled boxing match between legendary heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is set for tonight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The event will stream on Netflix starting at 8 p.m. ET. It’s the platform’s biggest sports event yet, and its highest-profile effort in live streaming to date.

Tyson will wear his traditional black boxing trunks with the name of his late daughter, Exodus Sierra Tyson, stitched on the bottom, warning Paul, “I’m bringing the devil himself [to the ring].”

Paul doesn’t seem to be intimidated by “Iron Mike” after promising to bet his entire $40 million purse on himself, stating, “I’m here to make $40 million and knock out a legend.”

The latest betting odds have Jake Paul, 31 years younger, as the 2-1 favorite to win.

POLITICS,

The satirical news publication The Onion purchased Alex Jones’ Infowars site in a bankruptcy auction Thursday. The Onion says it will turn the platform into a parody site.

Long Ago, when the Roman Empire was at the height of its glory, a common saying was “All Roads Lead to Rome.” I want to tell you about a very special road — a road that existed then and still exists now. This road, now almost 2,000 years old, has never led to Rome. Yet, strangely enough, it is called the Romans Road.

This takes the reader to selected passages in the Book of Romans in the Bible to explain the plan of Salvation. This is the ideal way to share the gospel using your Kindle. The reader can also read the entire book of Romans un-interrupted.
