Send Your Young Teen to Camp

Send to Kindle

by Mary L. Hamilton

Looking for something to keep your tween or young teen reading this summer? Send them to camp. Rustic Knoll Bible Camp, that is.

They’ll meet some great friends, like Brady, the kid whose mom dropped him off at camp and said she didn’t want him anymore. Or Steven, the blind camper who knows what rejection feels like and befriends Brady. And Claire, Steven’s spunky friend who doesn’t back down from a challenge. Oh, and don’t forget to include Taylor, the camp bully who has his own story in Book 2.

The camp staff is a wise and quirky team of characters, from Nurse Willie who would rather be fishing and wears a hat decorated with lures to Zeke, the camp director who accompanies his sermons with hand-drawn illustrations. There’s also Janie, the cook and substitute mom, and her husband, Roberto, the camp handyman, as well as some amazing counselors.

Hear No Evil, Book 1 is Brady’s story where he struggles to understand his mom’s sudden rejection. But when he learns Mom may be in danger, he risks everything to help her.

In Speak No Evil, Book 2, Taylor knows having his little sister at camp will be a pain. He just doesn’t realize how deep the pain will go.

The third book, See No Evil, finds Steven struggling with a secret sin. But is it even possible for a blind kid to have a problem with pornography? (Although there is nothing graphic or explicit in this book, the subject matter may make it more appropriate for ages 13 and up, depending on the maturity level of the student reader.)

Written with boys in mind, these books have enough action and adventure to interest your young male reader, and just enough romance to satisfy girls (without making the boys gag!). Each book conveys a solid Christian message in an entertaining way that kids find interesting without being preachy.

The Rustic Knoll Bible Camp Collection combines all three e-books in one volume. These stories make camp so real you can smell the campfire. No bug spray needed!
