Romans 8:26-27 “We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us.” Romans 8:26 (NIV)

I had a hard time learning how to pray.  Even though there are plenty of examples of people praying in the Bible, they all prayed differently in their own circumstances.

The Lord prayed, Elijah prayed for fire, Jabez had his own prayer, Moses prayed for the Israelites, David prayed for forgiveness, Hannah prayed for a baby, and the list goes on.

God taught me how to pray personally through the death of my mother.

In Romans 8 it says to let the Holy Spirit pray for you.  What kind of wonderful concept is that?  God already knows what we want and need.  Why shouldn’t we let the Holy Spirit go to God on our behalf and pray with “groans that words cannot express”.

God helps us get through hard times as we allow Him to lead the way and prepare our hearts for what’s to come.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to use your word and let the Holy Spirit pray for me.  Amen.
