Hear my cry, O God; 

Listen to my prayer. 

From the ends of the earth I call to you, 

I call as my heart grows faint;

Psalm 61:1-2 

New beginnings burst forth with a shower of flowers, green grass, and tiny green leaves sprouting on trees. There is nothing like the dawning of a new spring. This year my azaleas were the prettiest they’ve ever been, and I thank God for being able to enjoy the beautiful flowers. 

Spring has always been my favorite season with renewal and rebirth. My lilies are an example of tiny green sprouts shooting forth from the ground to begin a new season of life. Fall is my second favorite season because I love the turning of the leaves in all their splendor of crimson, gold, and orange. 

I’ve always loved the outdoors and nature and have felt closer to God appreciating His beautiful creative world. He is the greatest artist of all. I open my eyes to the beauty He has created for us to enjoy. Sunlight spilling across oak limbs, sunshine shining upon waters, animals playing, little children enjoying the outdoors, and flowers budding, blooming, and blossoming make the world come alive with springtime beauty. 

The prettiest places on God’s green earth are not fancy homes, but the land around true homes. If I am not using my War Room to pray, I enjoy the great outdoors. I have a table on the back porch and a swing from which I can complete morning devotions and pray as I listen to birds sing their happy morning tunes, God’s creatures. I see oak limbs waving to me, and flowers greeting me. I smell my sweet tea olive, gardenias, honeysuckle, and roses. Sights, sounds, and scents are part of the enjoyment.

From the ends of the earth, I call to God in prayer. His beautiful landscape of the world uplifts me. He hears my prayers. I am His daughter, but another flower in His garden. 

Open your eyes, listen with your ears, sniff the scents, and open your heart to God in all His glory. You’ll feel closer to Him. I always do when I take the time to be open to Him and the beautiful world He has created.
