I was missing two important Christmas ornaments. One was the key ornament my mother got us when we bought this house. The other was from Moon River Theater from our thirtieth anniversary trip to meet Andy Williams in Branson. I searched and searched in the ornament box. Of course, hubby to the rescue. He went to the box and searched as well. And He found both of them, right where I had been looking!
Oh beloved, what are you searching for? What is missing that you are trying to find? Everything you will ever need is right there for you. It’s trite perhaps, but all you will ever really need won’t be found under a Christmas tree. Or in a job. Or within a bank account. Not even in people. Because these things aren’t meant to fulfill your life – they simply enhance it.
That deep longing and searching can be over today. Because it’s all found in the person of Christ. He alone can meet all your needs. While this season is about celebrating His birth, He isn’t a babe in a manger anymore. He is the risen savior who has given you everything for life and godliness. Everything. He takes mediocre and makes it super spectacular. He takes disappointment and makes it God’s appointment. He takes sorrow and gives dancing lessons. He delights in showing mercy to cover all your mistakes and sins. This is no Christmas Story. This is a life story written just for you, for every day of the year. You are free through Christ, to live for Him and become his beneficiary of all things good and kind and faithful!
God loves you and He’s for you. Run to Him this morning and thank Him for making a way for you to not just endure but to enjoy your life. And live, in the power of His resurrection, enjoying the day, knowing one day and it could be soon, you will go home to be with Jesus in heaven forever!
Micah 7:18 Who is a God like You, who pardons wrongdoing and passes over a rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.
Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
About the Author:
In a Christian Women’s meeting in 1983, Rebekah was given a prophetic message that she would write books. Several years ago she began writing stories about special holiday memories and travels, sharing God’s love and care through each story. God has gifted Rebekah with the ability to look at the natural and see the supernatural. Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences.
