While attending the event at the Riverwalk Park in North Little Rock, I noticed a woman standing to the side of the stage. She stood there throughout the preaching time. Finally, I noticed that she was praying in the Spirit. I couldn’t resist. She surely needed a chair as she was an older woman. I went to speak to her. First thing I asked was “are you an angel?” She smiled, took off her sunglasses and said no. She told me her name. Then I offered her my lawn chair which she declined. She said she felt like she was 40 years old (I think she must have been a very young 70 or 80). She smiled the entire time we visited and I told her I noticed she was praying for the event – for those who were speaking and for those who were in the crowd. She said she thought she was the only one. It was a glorious moment – this mighty woman of the Lord just standing and praying the entire service.
Oh beloved, what is prayer and why is it so important? And did you know God will send you on assignment for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done? Prayer is gathering your human reasoning and passing it off for the glory of grabbing hold of the horns of the altar. The men on stage were appealing to heaven for those hearers. And this woman was appealing to heaven with them.
You may not know it, feel it or discern it – but prayer is your gift from God. And as a gift, it is valuable and helpful for everything in your life. You’ve stood long for some things. You’ve not wavered. And here is the Lord, answering your prayers before you even know He has even heard them!
God loves you and He is for you. Partner with Him today. Watch the heavenlies for your answers. Commune with the One who can change anything and anybody at any moment. And live in the Light of the truth that God answers prayer.
