Yesterday afternoon I remembered the time I went to the neighborhood grocery store to find my parents. That doesn’t sound too bad does it? Well, I was four years old and it was night time and it was in a Houston Texas neighborhood and…I had to cross a busy thoroughfare to get to the store.

When I arrived, my parents weren’t there and the grocery store clerk told me to go home.  On my way home I heard my dad’s voice on a side street.  He was asking if anyone had seen a little girl. “Here I am daddy!” As a parent I now understand the rest of the story.

He grabbed my hand and walked me home.  We went onto the steps of the house and he grabbed the screen open.  He wasn’t angry, He was so full of fear that He couldn’t think straight. I get that now.  Anyway, he opened the screen with force and knocked himself off balance, landing in the flowerbed below!  His fear and emotion overcame him and he toppled!

Oh beloved, don’t let fear and emotion topple you!  Don’t grab onto the situation you are in so forcefully that you are knocked off your landing!  God isn’t allowing the situation you are in to unhinge you.  He is creating an atmosphere for faith.  He isn’t trying to prove if you will remain faithful. He is showing you that you are full of that faith.  Even Kings can have fear, but they know not to let fear rule them. You, beloved, are not ruled by fear, nor by emotions. You are ruled by the Spirit of the Lord who resides in you!  Call upon the Lord. He is worthy. You are able. God will remind you what His priorities for you are.  Your reason for the journey you are on.  He isn’t going to leave you and He isn’t going to let you fall.  He says cry out to Him and He will cause the doors you walk through to be blessings instead of snares.

God loves you and He’s for you.  Rise up and go! Don’t let the enemy have another victory because He is a liar.  Rejoice that you walk by faith and not by sight. And live in the Light of God’s truth over all your situations in life.

Psalm 73:1-2 Truly God is good to Israel, to those whose hearts are pure.  But as for me, I almost lost my footing. My feet were slipping, and I was almost gone.

Psalm 73:23-24 Yet I still belong to You; You hold my right hand.  You guide me with Your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.

Psalm 116:8 For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

Psalm 94:18-19 If I say, “My foot is slipping,” Your loving devotion, O LORD, supports me. When anxiety overwhelms me, Your consolation delights my soul.

Isaiah 35:4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”
