Rescued by the pastor, she is taken in by the healer who teaches her the craft being a natural in plants and herbs. Despite her unfettered personality and complicated upbringing, Caleb comes to favor her. However, coincidental occurrences reveals she may be more than just the poor peasant girl with a tarnished reputation as originally portrayed. Can Leannan circumvent danger that follows her? Can she forgive herself for saving her beloved despite the consequences? Can she overcome her past with the help of her pastor to become a laird’s wife? Can Caleb conquer his personal demons to become a dedicated laird and husband? These are some of the many challenging circumstances Leanna and Caleb must confront before they find their happily-ever-after ending.
