by Rebekah Beene
In case nobody knows, I absolutely love Christmas. I get kinda carried away with decorating every corner of our house. You might say I go a little overboard. It’s genetic. My mom even made doorknob decorations! And I have many of her handmade items still.
Last night we found a box of them – but sadly those few things were just too old and fragile to put out anymore. Still I cannot part with them. I read a quote that says, “If your wife loves decorating for Christmas, get the décor out, gent her favorite holiday music and be genuinely happy that she’s happy!” This is truth!
Oh beloved, are you waiting for somebody else to join you in your joy? Stop waiting. Joyful expectancy is your birthright as a child of God. Enjoy it and watch it catch on. Have you been accused of being a little overboard in your decorating of Christmas? Okay. Go ahead and be overboard. And if you’ve been considered overboard in your faith – well, go ahead and walk on water! It’s your life in Christ, nobody else’s. The joy you experience in living life carried away with Jesus is a gift from God. Nobody can take that away from you. Living life lavishly in your faith is the best way to live. You’ve got your Abba Father’s DNA in you. You’ve been born again to accomplish much in the Spirit and to enjoy life as you meet those accomplishments!
God loves you and He is for you. Maybe it’s time for you to get lavish, be outrageous and have profuse joy in your journey. Rejoice that you can enjoy decorating for Jesus, put the Jesus music on and have a good time this season!
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again, I will say, rejoice!
1 Thessalonians 5:16:18 Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
Psalms 94:19 When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comforts delight me.
Proverbs 17:22 A happy heart is good medicine, and a joyful mind causes healing but a broken spirit dries up the bones.
About the Author:
In a Christian Women’s meeting in 1983, Rebekah was given a prophetic message that she would write books. Several years ago she began writing stories about special holiday memories and travels, sharing God’s love and care through each story. God has gifted Rebekah with the ability to look at the natural and see the supernatural. Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences. Her tag line says it all “God loves you and He’s for you”.
